On September 1, 2020, the HOA met with Colony Cove management and presented a proposal to install Handicap Chair Lifts at Manatee and Harmony Hall pools. Presented was information from the (ADA) American for Disabilities Act, the Arthritis Foundation, various Doctors, and statements from residents of Colony Cove. The presentation was felt to be complete and well thought out. It should be noted that the ADA does not require Handicap Chair Lifts in these pools if they are only used by residents and guests. However, the HOA felt that the lifts would be a huge asset since this is a 55 and older community and we have handicap residents that would like to have access to the pools.
Unfortunately, ELS Management declined our request for no reason given. The HOA has not given up on this issue and will continue to pursue it.
